Core / Fault / Object

This work does not describe movement.
It does not suggest atmosphere or transition.
It insists on being something.

A solid form, cut open, exposing its internal history without apology. The rings do not read as decoration; they read as record. Each line marks duration, pressure, accumulation. Time here is not poetic — it is structural.

At the center, fractures intersect. They are not dramatic breaks but factual ones. Lines where resistance failed, where growth adjusted, where matter accepted stress rather than escaping it. These cracks are not flaws. They are coordinates.

The surrounding resin does not soften the object. It isolates it. The translucent field acts like distance, allowing the object to remain itself, unblended, self-contained. This is not a surface effect; it is a declaration of mass.

Light behaves differently here. It does not dance or shimmer. It rests. Reflection is absorbed into the density of the grain, reinforcing the weight of the object rather than dispersing it. The eye is pulled inward, toward the center, toward the point where everything converges.

In a restrained aesthetic, this piece is controlled, minimal, and unapologetically physical. Emotion is present, but it is encoded — locked inside structure. There is no excess. No flourish. Only presence.

“Core / Fault / Object” is not symbolic.
It does not stand in for something else.

It is an object that has survived time, compression, and exposure — and remains intact precisely because it carries its damage openly.

Nothing flows.
Nothing waits.

It simply exists, and asks the viewer to acknowledge its weight.
